What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is an event where people who are interested in computer programming can work together on software. Many hackathons have a particular purpose or aim in mind. This aim can relate to equity, social justice, or other current events.

SpenceHacks will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

what if i’m a beginner?

We would still love to have you! Many of our workshops are introductory and are a great place to start if you’re interested in STEM. Additionally, we have a division of our competition aimed for beginners.

What is spencehacks?

SpenceHacks is a hackathon hosted by The Spence School based in New York City, held in person this year at 412 East 90th Street. A student participating in SpenceHacks 2025 will attend workshops, talks, and have a chance to compete in a project-based contest!

Who can attend spencehacks?

Any middle or high school student!

How can i sign up in a team?

Please have all of your team members fill out the sign up form. There is nothing extra you have to do to register your team at the moment.
